A count your team will actually finish.
The list is in the order the bottles sit on the shelf. Full bottles in one box, the open one in the next, the total shows as you go, and Enter walks you to the next bottle. Nothing about what BarStock expects gets in the counter’s way.
- Shelf by shelf, in the order the bottles actually sit, or by category.
- Blind by default. Expected numbers stay hidden until the count is saved.
- Scan to count: each scan adds a full bottle; a new bottle can be added on the spot.

Measure the open one three ways
A quick look is fine for most of the shelf. For the pricey bottles there’s a measure tool on every row.
- Drag the level on the bottle’s own outline, traced from its photo, so a curved neck doesn’t fool anyone.
- Snap the bottle and line the level up on the picture.
- Weigh it on a kitchen scale against the bottle’s full and empty weight.
All locations, room by room
Count the whole building in one go. Each room gets its own section with the bottles that should be there, so nobody is adding up the bar and the storeroom in their head.
- Shrink is worked out on the building’s total. A bottle that’s on the rail when BarStock had it in storage is moved there, not written off.
- Blank means none here once a bottle is counted in another room, and a full count warns before saving blanks.
- A full count closes the period for the cost reports once every location is in, all at once or within 36 hours.

Real count sheets, not screenshots
Print a sheet in the same order as the screen: one section per room, boxes for Full and Open, lines for who counted and when. Or export blank count sheets to Excel, one tab per outlet, shelf order first.
- Blind on paper too: expected numbers only print if you turn blind off.
- Inventory value in Excel: a summary, every outlet on its own tab with only what’s there, subtotals by category.

A closing spot check, picked at random
Not all the tequila: six random bottles from what that outlet carries, counted blind before the lights go off. The picks rotate so every bottle gets its turn.
- Weighted: the longer since a bottle was checked, the likelier; a little more for pricey bottles and ones that came up short.
- Never the same bottles twice in a row, and a reprint the same night doesn’t reshuffle.
- Prints on a receipt printer (80 mm), or counts on the iPad. Staff see “Saved, thanks”; managers see what it found.
CLOSING SPOT CHECK
What the count turns into
The order builds itself from what you used, and the report shows what the period really cost.
